Kekaulike Transfer Pipeline
KEKAULIKE is a collaborative Title III grant through Native Hawaiian Student Services created to strengthen the transfer pipeline between the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College and UH Mānoa. Through workshops, internships, conferences, field school programs, and summer bridges, students transfer with a strong and supportive community, their foundation for such a huge transition. We at Kekaulike are here to support students with their academic goals and assist in making the transfer process smooth and easy.
Creates & promotes a Hawaiian place for learning, Advocate the learning of Hawaiian language, studies & education, Recognize our kuleana to honor the traditions of our indigenous people & to promote social justice for Native Hawaiians, Educate a highly knowledgeable, skilled, flexible, world-class Native Hawaiian workforce

Support and facilitate student transfer process to the UH Mānoa campus through pre and post transfer programming and other services provided by the Kekaulike staff

Services offered: Free computer & print access, workshops, seminars, internships, community huakaʻi, counseling (academic, personal wellness, referral services), career advising, peer tutoring, and so much more!!

Kekaulike Internship Program (Spring & Summer 2018)
The Kekaulike Internship Program is an opportunity for undergraduate Kanaka Maoli Students at UH Mānoa and UH Maui College to participate in a program that supports individual student academic and professional success while also support in the strengthening of partnerships between the University of Hawaii and our community. offers paid internships on Maui and Oʻahu. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain valuable research and writing skills while enhancing the knowledge of the Hawaiian community.
MauiaKama, Hawaiian Language Field-School (Summer 2018)
MauiaKama is a Hawaiian language Immersion Camp in partnership with UH Mānoa’s Native Hawaiian Student Services Kekaulike Grant and Kawaihuelani Center for Hawaiian Language and UH Maui College Hawaiian Studies. Students spend 24/7 for seven days in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi while engaging in aloha ʻāina activities and visiting Maui’s wahi pana. Students earn three credits for this course. >> Cost: Approximately $300 (Food & registration fees; credits, lodging, and transportation free)
Ea Hawaiʻi, Hawaiian Studies Field-School (Summer 2018)
Hawaiian Studies intensive field school focused on engaging students in broad Hawaiian Studies themes presented by ten different Hawaiian educators. Students will engage in aloha ʻāina experiences and community forums and discussions. Students spend 24/7 for five days immersed in the topic of EA. Field-School held on Maui. >> Cost: TBA Registration fee, credits, lodging and transportation free.
Summer Bridge Program at UH Mānoa (Summer 2018)
This is a six week residential experience at UH Mānoa for UH Maui College students who are transferring to UH Mānoa in Fall 2018 or Spring 2019. Students enroll in a common summer course and engage in other activities geared towards identity development and demystifying UH Mānoa. >> Cost: Student must pay airfare to Oʻahu. Lodging, credits and meal plan free.
